Our School

The Montessori Children’s School has been providing quality education to the Upper Valley for over 25 years. With trained teachers and an exceptional environment, our school guides children 3-6 years of age, offering a preschool and kindergarten program. Our classrooms are multi-age and closely follow the philosophy of Maria Montessori. The curriculum focuses on independence, allowing each child to navigate through the classrooms, problem-solving and creating their own path of learning. Focusing on the holistic development of the child, the teachers create individual plans, crafting lessons and creating works based on the interests of the group.

Her observations and findings regarding child development are all still relevant today. The materials that she developed for the first Casa di Bambini (Children’s House) are still used in all Montessori classrooms around the world.

Based in Nature

In our school, children have the opportunity to develop independence, social sensitivity, and an interest in learning that is necessary for their fullest possible growth. Our school is explicitly committed to making choices — in staffing, enrollment, and curriculum — that help to broaden community, with knowledge of and respect for geographies and cultures that differ from our own.

Testimonials

“What impressed us most about the Montessori Children's School is the individualized education that our children received. The teachers are amazing and were able to nurture the interests and development of each of our children who had very different needs and personalities. ”
